Task Force Europe

An European Group working to realize the goal of 10 million tonnes of RTRS Certified Soy

Task Force Europe is ready to help RTRS achieve its global objectives locally. As one of the strongest markets, European stakeholders are key players in the joint efforts to disseminate responsible soy production around the world.  Task Force Europe wants to contribute to linking increased demand and supply of RTRS certified soy and, in the long term, move the mainstream market towards RTRS adoption.

In its kick off meeting on October 30th, 2014 in London, Task Force Europe Members agreed on a main goal: to realize 10 million tons of RTRS Certified Soy produced and bought worldwide. This number represents the tipping point at which the supply chain becomes more sustainable. Key sector organisations, including the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation FEFAC and The Consumer Goods Forum, voiced their support for the shared ambition to facilitate mainstream market supply of responsibly produced soy.

Work plan 2015

The Task Force Europe is currently working on a plan to develop the market and to achieve 10 million tonnes certified soy to transform the soy market. Key to the plan is the commitment of European market players to source responsibly. For all companies willing to act, RTRS certified soy is available on the market, mass balance as well as credits, in all quantities to meet buyers demand.

In order to accomplish its targets, Task Force Europe works closely to Task Force Brazil. Together they developed a joint strategy which embraces the entire soy value chain.
