The institute of environmental research of the Amazon, IPAM, is a non-governmental organization, without profit aims, established in 1995. IPAM works via demonstration projects, production of scientific knowledge and via academic guidance of graduate and postgraduate students. The research and management demonstration projects promote the necessary basis for extension and education activities and serve as subsidies to contribute to environmental politics.
