A certification body, preliminary recognized by the RTRS means that, subject to certain conditions, this is competent to perform the certification audits under the scope which is preliminary recognized. This recognition is only for a limited time and is the first step to operate as an accredited certification body The accreditation is the formal recognition that makes an independent body (an accreditation body such as OAA – Argentinean Accreditation Body – for example, or INMETRO) that an entity complies with specified requirements and is competent to perform the conformity assessment tasks for which it is accredited.
