Scope of the course:
To ensure an optimal level of competence of Lead Auditors who audit against the RTRS producer standard. The course is also open for others that would like to have a deeper understanding of the RTRS standard and the certification process, including Quality Managers and other people familiar with standards and audit processes.

This course is an essential requirement for those auditors who wish to certify the RTRS Chain of Custody Standard. It is also available for those people who wish to gain a deeper knowledge on such standard and its verification system, and Quality Managers or any other employees who work with other standards or audit processes.
Content of the course
During the taking of the course, the following subjects will be developed:
- Introduction to the RTRS
- RTRS certification and accreditation systems
- RTRS Chain of Custody Standard, including the guidelines on the implementation of the standard and the certification process within the supply chain
- Kinds of Chain of Custody certification: segregation, mass balance, and multisite certification
- EU RED compliance requirements applied to the RTRS Chain of Custody
- RTRS standard audit and verification exercises
- The RTRS Leading Auditors Course includes a test on the knowledge and skills that have been obtained during the course. This test includes a final exam, and a participation level test of each of the participants.
The course will show the participants the specific requirements of the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) on the implementation of all the standards, policies and guidelines related to the RTRS certification process.
The participants will also acknowledge specific requirements to carry out the certification audits of the RTRS Chain of Custody and RTRS standard.

During the first half of 2011, the market will count with RTRS certified soy production from different regions. The RTRS recognizes the existence of different realities, regulations, geographic and production systems worldwide, thus to ensure that the RTRS Standard for Responsible Soy Production to consider all the variations from country to country, promotes the development RTRS National Interpretations (IN) for the International Indicators and international standards.
Uruguay National Interpretation is being carried out by the National Technical Group composed of representatives of the three RTRS constituency: Producers, Trade, Industry and Finance and Civil Society. The group had its first meeting on 8th and 9th November (2010) in Montevideo (Uruguay), where discussed the Standard RTRS. The group will meet for the second time in order to analyze the results of public consultation and feedback from producers. We are currently conducting a public consultation lasting 60 days: from 8th December 2010 until 8th February 2011.
