Guyra Paraguay is a civil society organization with the goal of promoting, leading, and coordinating actions related to the conservation and sustainable use of Biodiversity and Birdlife in Paraguay, through the support of adequate public policy initiatives, research, awareness building and an active and participatory role in civil society. Guyra seeks consensus and good practices to mainstream biodiversity in the local economy and maintain rural landscapes where biodiversity and production could successfully succeed. Soybean production in Paraguay and neighboring countries is very important for the economy and unplanned expansion has produced serious damages to the environment reducing and fragmenting natural habitats and thus producing loss of biodiversity.
